Fluenccy, a financial services startup, was gearing up for rapid growth. With big goals on the horizon and a team expanding fast, they wanted to ensure their people were set up for long-term success — not just today, but into the future.

The executive team recognised that team effectiveness, communication, and clarity of roles would be key to scaling sustainably. After exploring several tools and approaches, we landed on the Team Management Profile (TMP) by Team Management Systems as the foundation for this work.

Our Approach

We designed and delivered a blended program of workshops and one-on-one coaching, kicking off with every team member completing the TMP assessment.

The energy in the first session was palpable. Team members gained deep insights into their own work preferences — and, crucially, into the preferences and strengths of their colleagues. According to the client, that first workshop was “the best day so far for the company.”

The experience sparked new conversations, fresh thinking, and mutual understanding. It gave the team a shared language for collaboration and laid the groundwork for trust, alignment, and performance.

Why the Team Management Profile?

Unlike generic personality tools, the TMP is a work-focused, science-based framework that links personal preferences directly to team and organisational effectiveness. It helps leaders and teams:

  • Understand how individuals prefer to contribute to work
  • Explore team dynamics in the context of the work to be done
  • Identify critical gaps in work preferences (e.g. where a team might struggle with innovation, delivery, or follow-through)
  • Translate insights into actionable strategies that strengthen performance and engagement

The TMP is underpinned by multiple models (including situational leadership theory and the TMS Model of Work), offering a holistic and practical lens on individual and team functioning.
