As coaches, our primary mission is to guide our clients through the transformative process of meaning making. This journey involves helping coachees interpret their experiences, emotions, and behaviors in new, empowering ways.
The ontological approach offers a powerful framework, examining the client’s way of being through three lenses: Language, Emotions, and Physiology. By employing clean language techniques, we create a space free from preconceptions, allowing the client’s authentic thoughts and feelings to emerge.
Our role is to facilitate reflection, uncover patterns, and inspire new insights. This process often leads to profound perspective shifts, enabling clients to attach more constructive meanings to their challenges and goals.
Recently, I’ve been exploring how this approach applies to my own development as a coach. By examining my core qualities – including their associated pitfalls and challenges – I’ve strengthened my coaching presence and authenticity.
